There is nothing like a domestic double-header to add to the buzz around the Garenne Stand Clubhouse

THERE is nothing like a domestic double-header to add to the buzz around the Garenne Stand clubhouse and on Saturday ahead of the 1st XV’s National 3 London & SE game against CS Rugby 1863, the 2nds entertain Beeches on the old pitch.

As far as the first team goes, coach Jordon Reynolds makes a few changes as the team look to bounce back quickly from last week’s 24-0 defeat at Westcombe Park when the general performance was, in the main, good, except when taking their chances,butter-fingers didn't help.

The provisional team selected is: Sharrott, Ceillam, Craine, Hillier, Regnard, Thomas, Le Cocq, Barton, Rutledge, Ball, Campbell, McDougall, Taylor, Challinor, Whitehead.
Replacements: L. Batiste, Hobbs, J. Batiste.

That game starts at 3.15 and at noon the seconds play.

Coach Mark Stone will pick from this squad:
Darrin Bellingham, Cally Murdoch, Lawrence Hill-Tout, Matt Bacon, Russell Roberts, Rick Felbabel, Berian Jones, Kit Hughes, Dave McGall, Alex Lock, Leon Gardner, George Hartley, Dave O’Hanlon, Jason Batiste, Mark Elliott, Jim Elliott, Dave Davison, Barry Goude, Ray Smart, Mark Stone.

The coach explained his thinking: ‘If any Colts backs become available they will replace Ray and I in the squad. But the 1st XV’s injury problems are having a big knock on effect to the second team and we have Andy Bailey away on business this weekend, and Chris Ahne injured his knee v the Vets last weekend, both of which are a loss. ‘The good news is some of the backs currently missing are close to return such as Sam Stables, Alec Bailey, Dan Le Prevost, Connor Sullivan, who made a strong impression in the inter insular, and Rory Jones.
That said, the side above is much stronger than we have had available for our last two fixtures with Les Quennevais and the vets so we are set for a good showing. I’m hoping we can dominate the set piece with the forwards and generate some quick ball for a great half-back pairing of Dave O’Hanlon and Jason Batiste, should he be released to play by Jordan. It’s also good to see Mark Elliott back playing; a Siam Cup winning winger.’
