SAM WHITEHEAD is back in contention for a starting spot in Saturday's second home game in National Three London and South East.

The Kiwi has been out for virtually a full year with a severe knee injury, but is now fit again and Raiders head coach Jordan Reynolds is weighing up bringing him back for the Wimbledon game or let him play in the 2nds clash against the visiting Wimbledonians which is a lunchtime kickoff ahead of the big game.

'He offers a lot and Sam was a big part of our league success of the year before,' said Reynolds on Wednesday.
'He gives great stability at the back and his kicking options are very good both out of hand and in kick taking.
'Having him back in the fold and putting pressure on the back three will produce a lot of competition for places is always good.'

Also set to return to the match day squad this weekend is hard-tackling cent Ned Brown who as been off island on holiday.
'Millsy' (Alex Miller) could also be available and I have many options thrown at me that I need to take time and make the right choice,' said Jordan.

Wimbledon are of the new sides to the division but the Raiders coach members them well when they clashed in London Three a few years back.

There will be more team news tomorrow with squad selection and details of 2nds match
