TWO wins out of three at senior level, represented a handy weekend for the club.

The bad news was that the first XV lost for a fifth time in six matches, but they pushed Hertford mightily hard under the lights before losing 15-20.

The results undoubtedly hinged on the early dismissal of Guernsey prop Layton Batiste who saw red for a punch.

Sam Whitehead had a good game with the boot, landing five penalties.

It was a disappointing end to the day for coach Jordan Reynolds who had earlier overseen a remarkable recovery for the Seconds who won for a third straight time in the JRA League, beating Banks 57-34.

The home side trailed 24-17 at the break but then scored 40 points in a fantastic second half showing.

They ran in eight tries in total with Luke Sayer and Naro Zimmerman each notching a hat-trick.

Alec Bailey also had a cracking game with the boot, landing seven conversions and a penalty.

The weekend ended with a fine 38 points to five victory for the women in the UK.

Harlequins were their beaten opponents. as Hannah Lord scored a hat-trick of tries, Vicky rang scored two and Jemma Crouse another.

Jemma also converted four times.

In the Sussex Colts league, Matt Chammings U18s were edged out 17-15 by hosts Crawley.

Ben Honour and Cameron Hantonne scored tries and Georoid Lee scored a penalty and a conversion.

A fuller weekend review with coach’s comments later.
