AHEAD of their vital game in Newbury tomorrow, the Guernsey Ladies coach says 'positivity has never left us all season'.
Chris Griffiths said that after the win over Teddington 'we have something really positive to cling to and a clear goal to achieve, so it feels like there is a new focus and vision'.
Although Newbury sit top of the Championship two South West table, Griffiths is hopeful of an upset.
'We need to defend as well as we did against Teddington, if not better, and we can’t afford to give away as many penalties as we did last weekend and it is something we have discussed and worked on at training this week.
'The other key thing is that we need to be more clinical at taking any chances as they will be few and far between.
'We left probably three tries out on the pitch against Teddington because we didn’t remain calm, patience is critical at wearing down good opposition and if we need to be patient to score on Sunday then that’s what we must do and finish the tries off well.'
He is able to name a strong XV with Justeen Baker back at stand-off after being home in South Africa recently. The young Lucy Pratt holds her position in the starting squad, however moves back out to the right wing and Sophie O'Connell comes back into hooker.
