FOCUSED RAIDERS WELCOME BACK JONES
IT’S the time...
One more away win and a step closer to the title.
Tring RFC, will no doubt have sore bodies from a very physical encounter last weekend at Barnes, but they will certainly be up for it, but so too are the Raiders.
'I think we have learned a lot from the Barnes game when everyone was very excited beforehand,’ said head coach Jordan Reynolds.
'This time everyone is just very focused and we could see that when we had a big session on Tuesday night in terrible conditions.
'We've done the hard work and we are just keen to get the job done.'
Raiders are still without the injured, Sam Whitehead, Dan Hill and Malcolm Barnes, as well as the holidaying Luke Sayer, but Luke Jones is back and Robin Le Cocq also returns to the squad after having to drop out last weekend due to work committments.
The Raiders have a high chance of securing at least second place and a promotion playoff with the South West Division champions, but the Raiders don't want to leave anything to chance and they will head north on Friday as opposed to the normal early-morning Saturday start.
'Most of the trips we are sitting on a bus for two, two-and-a-half hours before a game.
'This time the team wanted to travel out on the Friday and get a good night's rest,' said the coach.
As for Tring, they will want to play the role of big party-poopers, even though their spirits must have taken a big knock with that three-point loss at Barnes.
It seems it was a game that took not only a whole lot out of both sets of players, but also the people who handle the two clubs’ media.
Several days on and still not a word has on the big game.
We can assume that Tring will be without their No.7, red-carded in the dramatic finish, but Raiders go to Hertfordshire focused on just one thing - the win.
All the club’s with you boys, not to mention a whole island.
