CRAINE BACK IN THE FOLD

An old familiar and popular face returns to the Raiders squad for their latest National 2 South clash under the lights at Footes Lane on Saturday (7.30 KO).
Cameron Craine is back.
The big Kiwi, who has been an integral part of the club’s rise through the divisions, has overcome his ankle operation and will sit among the replacements for the game against Birmingham & Solihull.
‘He had the all clear after his op to clear out some floating cartilage back in August,’ said head coach Jordan Reynolds.
‘We could have played him last week but decided to hold him back. We’ve not got too many forwards,’ laughed Reynolds with irony in regard to the current imbalance in the squad due to injuries.
Indeed, it will be a powerful first choice set of forwards that run out under the lights, with the exception of Charlie Currie, perhaps.
His bad injury a few weeks ago means Layton Batiste remains in the number 3 shirt and the other Batiste brother, Jason, returns to the centres alongside, Chris Ahne.
Luke Sayer also returns on the wing, as Malcolm Barnes is rested.

‘There is a huge amount of changes but that was only to be expected,’ said the coach, who gave a lot of the fringe players 80 minutes at Rams and, in the main, liked what he saw.
‘We certainly saw some of the potential from the new guys,’ he added.
The last two home games - both won by Raiders - have been very much 'forward games' due to the lousy weather.
Saturday’s forecast is looking good but Reynolds still believes it could be damp.
‘It is supposed to be good weather but potentially there will be a lot of dew. So we will have game plans for the dry and wet.’
As for the opposition, 'The Bees' have more losing bonus points than any other side in the division, and will be looking to put on a good show after last weekend's lacklustre performance at Clifton.

Bees have a number of players who are injured or unavailable for this game, but Pete Glackin, their Head of Rugby, is still able to name a strong side.
In the backs Sean O'Sullivan comes in at scrum half, with captain Jack Jolly moving to fill the No. 10 shirt.
With speedy full back Corey Venus returning from injury, Nath Tilsley returns to his normal position at inside centre.
In the forwards, Nick Bingham comes in for Joe Foreman at loose head, and Matt Spink will partner Andrew Weaver in the second row. Ed Krawiecki joins Ash Scriven, and Marcus Brown in the back row.
