THE 1st XV scored their first win of the season and have earned a bonus point to boot as they ran in five tries at Thurrock today.
It was a good performance by Jordan Reynolds team although there were a few worrying moments early in the second half when the home side pushed over three times to pull back to within two points at 24-26.
Thurrock had started the game well but with tries from Robin Le Cocq, Malcolm Barnes and Matt Thomas, one of them converted , and three penalties from the same man Sam Whitehead, Guernsey went into half time 26-3 up.
After Thurrock's revival further tries from Matt Ball and Dale Rutledge, both converted by Sam, made the game safe.
Malcolm Barnes was nominated as man of the match.
