JIM REGNARD... never write the man off.
The veteran Siam player has earned a recall for Raiders’ big game away at Hertford on Saturday when fifth plays sixth in the table.
It’s another ‘must-win’ game for Raiders in terms of ambitions of finishing in the top-five in National Three London & South East, which would be a massive achievement from the lads considering the respective resources and budgets.
Regnard is needed due to the ongoing absence of Lewis Hillier and the unavailability this weekend of Tom Malagodi.
‘He [Jim] has been playing quite well for the seconds, he also captained the inter-insular winning side and he is still committed to the club,’ coach Jordan Reynolds said of Regnard’s return.
‘It is always tough going to Hertford. They have got a great home record and although we have had success there in previous years, it counts for nothing this weekend.’
Raiders won the home game with Hertford 29-23, but this time around they will be without Luke Sayer who scored a brilliant individual try that day. Luke has an ongoing shoulder injury, but there is better news re Hillier who has started light running and he could be back in the next two or three weeks.
