The Guernsey Sporting Achievement Awards Presentation Evening will take place on Wednesday 16th January 2013 at Beau Sejour in the David Ferguson Hall. The awards this year are being sponsored by Credit Suisse and presented by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.

These awards acknowledge all island sports and those islanders who have achieved or exceeded their own sporting goals as well as elite sporting men and women. All of the awards are based purely on nominations from the public, sports clubs and associations.

There is no charge for the event and it is from 6.15pm – 8.15pm. All interested are welcome to attend. There is no need to reserve a place, however if you would like to reserve a table please contact Graham Chester on tel. 747273/ 07781 122276 or email graham.chester@guernseysports.com

Beau Sejour Trophy – Awarded for the outstanding team performance of the year by a team comprised solely of Guernsey residents aged less than eighteen years of age.

Dave Dorey Memorial Trophy – Awarded to the sport or the individual from that sport who have been involved in coaching/and or development and made an outstanding contribution to that sport.

The Channel Islands Sports Awards will be held at Beau Sejour in Guernsey on Thursday 31st January. Rob Jones and Mark McQuillan will be hosting the evening and looking back on a fantastic year for sport in the Channel Islands.

There are six awards on offer throughout the evening, with the Sports Personality of the Year prize decided by a public vote on the night. Rugby is featured in three of the awards;

Natwest Rising Star – Luke Jones
Cenkos Coach of the Year – Jordan Reynolds
Clydesdale Bank Team of the Year – 1st XV
