Melborne leads away team

The swift rearrangement of the game, originally postponed due to a frozen pitch a fortnight ago, has caught Raiders on the hop, or certainly those whose job is to throw it around and capitalise on the big men’s hard work.

There is another twist to the story in that Jordan Reynolds will also miss the game as he is in the north of England on a pre-arranged fact-finding week at Doncaster Knights.

In his absence Steve Melbourne will be in charge of the Raiders hoping to complete a league double over Dorking and cement fifth spot in the National Three London and SE table.

Raiders will also be without Dan Hill, but with Luke Skovronek stepping in and a bit of rejigging of the pack it will still be a strong set of forwards flying out on Saturday morning.

Luke Jones will start at centre where has impressed greatly in recent games and it may just be that young Brad Webb will make his debut alongside him.
The slippery Taylor Quate is also set to get another chance.

Weather conditions in Surrey may be a leveller in terms of attacking ball and if that is the case there won’t be a repeat of the try frenzy Footes Lane experienced at the end of September.

When the two sides last met Raiders won an incredible game that provided very nearly 100 points. 'In the end it was like we had to score more tries rather than worry about defence,’ said Jordan Reynolds after that game having watched the hosts score eight of the total 14 tries.
It was an incredible game which saw Guernsey seemingly cruising at 24-0 up after just a quarter of an hour.

Incredibly, though, Guernsey found themselves trailing with 10 minutes to go and it required a late converted score from captain Lewis Hillier to get us ahead again and it took a well-judged gamble from No. 10 Owen Thomas to seal the match, racing clear for the clinching converted try.

But there was still time for Dorking to score again through centre Fraser Mosley.
