Next up Italy Tour for Colts

After the junior Colts got back on track with a good win last week, the focus now switches to the Colts tour which begins next Sunday 12th February.

The colts have three though game ahaead of them away in Italy, with first up is Petrarca Padova Rugby, they are a professional Italian rugby union club who's first team currently competing in Super 10. They are based in the city of Padua. They are the current Italian champions having won the 2010/11 title with victory over fierce rivals Rugby Rovigo. Petrarca Padova Rugby have a 9,000 seat stadium.

2nd up is Rangers Rugby Vicenza who is an amateur sports association, established in 1974 with the aim to promote the game of rugby, and its official colours are those of the city of Vicenza: white and red. The club - has three regulatory fields, in addition to locker rooms, a gym and a club house, at the beginning of the 2010/11 season it had 311 playing members. The Club has at least one team entered in each category provided for in the competitive Italian Rugby Federation ( FIR). The Rangers Rugby Vicenza is a provincial rugby club, but also one of the first in Italy, according to data provided by FIR. The Club participates in regular leagues and tournaments, but also to national and international matches, both in Italy and abroad. Over the last few years, our teams have faced in Vicenza numerous international matches against youth teams from Britain, Ireland, France and Portugal). The initiatives of the Rangers Rugby Vicenza are possible through the efforts and dedication of its managers, coaches and players, with the help of many parents who passionately follow our adventures in sport, especially those of younger athletes.

And finally is Castelfranco Veneto who are an amateur provincial Club located in Triveso (town/city with pop of 72,000) in the Veneto region near to Venice. Castelfranco or Castellana Rugby specialises in youth rugby up to under 18 and play in FIR competitions. Treviso has a booming university and an Airport. Furthermore, it is considered one of the most sporting cities of Italy and it is home to one of the most titled clubs in Italian amateur rugby.

All three of these games are sure to be a tough test, but the colts will play with pride in every game and enjoy the opportuinity to fly the Guernsey flag abroard.
