After the struggles to get a squad out for their most recent match, which ended in a heavy defeat, this time around he had 17 travelling.
Unfortunately and tellingly, his side did not finish with a full side and had to play much of the second half with just 13 due to a succession of injuries.
Havant, who were worthy of their win and a ‘much better side this time around’ said Evans, led 15-0 at the interval.
But a try by Liam Torode, converted by Dom Rice, got us back into the game at 7-15.
However, the injuries then cost Guernsey dear and Havant ran away with it.
‘Things went against us and they moved the ball around from side to side and when they saw the opening took their chances,’ he added.
‘In the first half our rucking was good but it didn’t help that we were without both our two recognised hookers who were out injured and unavailable.
‘We were without a key player in that position and we ended up with three props in the front row.’
